GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE

A practice involving the Gayatri-mantrah, a Vedic Chant that focuses on the qualities associated with the first light of the day to promote vitality and wellness
A dance between sound, body, breath and spirit.

Ruby 9 Yoga comes to The Sound Temple

When we chant we set up a vibration throughout the body.
In this intensive workshop you will move with the sound and vibration of your own voice exploring that connection between your body, breath and mind.

Vedic chant is an important tool of yoga that promotes health in a very powerful and wonderful way.
When we chant we regulate the breath, increasing capacity, strength and confidence not just through our voice but also in all other aspects of ourselves.
To chant we make our sounds on the exhale portion of our breath. This has the effect of lengthening our breath and so increasing our life force and so too our life.
Chanting relieves tightness; the sound vibration stabilises our vocal capacity and improves our communication with ourselves and others. We connect to an inner joy, making space at our heart.
Vedic chant uses three different pitches that resonate in specific ways. Words connect pitch, meanings and symbolism in specific ways and therefore the outcome is transformational

As the afternoon unfolds Sally will impart some background into chanting, the region the chant comes from, the benefits and then as a group you will work through some basic asana to begin to comprehend how the vibration moves within our system. You will workshop a vedic chant in the studio or out on the deck and then be led to The Sound Temple to lay down and you will receive the chant in the resonant sound chamber as the vibrations bathe your body. You can then share your experience over a cup of tea at the end.

First timers, beginners, yoga participants, yoga teachers, sound practitioners and anyone who would like to explore this healing mode are all welcome. This is the initial session being held at The Sound Temple with more events by Sally (Ruby9Yoga) being scheduled. Come and spend an afternoon with Sally as she shares her wisdom and knowledge in any experience that will leave you feeling inspired, vibrant, balanced and calm.
