Common Threads Woven through Community

Discover the Goddess of Creation Within! with Sally Riddell

Immersive Workshop

Discover the Goddess of Creation and Courage Within!

Join Sally in this beautiful workshop where she will weave chant, storytelling and the making of a natural mandala through the theme of Durga – the goddess of creation and courage.

Feeling like you need some time in nature? Feeling like a great story? Feeling up to an immersive rich experience? Feeling the call for a new and exciting way to make connections?

You will learn the chant of Durga, hear her story, be bathed in sacred sound that expresses her qualities. Part of this immersive workshop will take place in The Sound Temple which is our custom built sound chamber and then we will gather and make a mandala in our bush setting. Come and connect to the local land where we will work together bringing individual experiences to thread together to form a whole mandala on the earth for all to share.

Spend the afternoon being immersed in this meditative practice, you will be steeped in the Seed Mantra which will open up the creativity within each of us, then this activation will assist the Pollination of bringing Durga’s qualities into the Community Earth Mandala.

Sally Riddell is a Yoga Teacher, Yoga Therapist and teacher of Vedic Chant from Perth, Western Australia who has trained in the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya. Her inspirational and inclusive practices stem from the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya, following the guidance of her personal teachers T.K.V. Desikachar, his family and the teachers from the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram. Sally uses all the “tools” of yoga in a way that includes each person in a way that is appropriate for them.

Her personal style of teaching is inspired by the resonance of chant, the wonder of storytelling and the relevance of metaphor.

With an early tertiary education in Fine Art Sally loves creating from the offerings of the natural world as well as through textiles, basket making and drawing.

Sally has led walking and yoga retreats in Western Australia, Spain and India. She is passionate about the power of Yoga, Vedic Chant and Meditation to guide and inform our daily life and the ways in which our lives intertwine with the rhythms of the natural world.
