The Building Blocks to Emotional Resilience

Designed for men, women and couples, these workshops are run by Joe Douglas, a qualified psychotherapist whose mission in life is to help others. Joe is a highly skilled facilitator and holds and maintains a safe place for people to get the most out of their experiences.

I believe that people are not broken, people do not catch dis-ease like ‘depression’ or ‘anxiety’, they feel the effects of these feelings and manage themselves the best they can at the time. People are amazingly resilient, noble and honourable and sometimes get overwhelmed and sometimes find their best efforts at “self-improvement” thwarted. So to bring about concerted change one might need some support to turn a new leaf, make a fresh start.

These workshops are for people that are new to personal development and are also useful for people that are not so new to this type of work. Couples are warmly welcomed to join this transformative weekend.

Over the weekend you will learn how your emotions affect you and those around you. You will get the chance to work through some of your issues and learn how holding on to past resentments drains your energy.

What Is Emotional Resilience?
Emotional resilience refers to one’s ability to adapt to stressful situations or crises. More resilient people are able to “roll with the punches” and adapt to adversity without lasting difficulties; less resilient people have a harder time with stress and life changes, both major and minor. It’s been found that those who deal with minor stresses more easily can also manage major crises with greater ease, so resilience has its benefits for daily life as well as for the rare major catastrophe.

Mindfulness
You will gain practical tools for becoming more mindful in your life. What does ‘mindful’ mean? It means being more present and aware of your inner and outer world. Who benefits from that? You and all those who you consider nearest and dearest will most definitely benefit.
During the weekend, you will learn about mindfulness and becoming less stressed. You will get to understand how big emotions drive your behaviour in good and bad ways. You’ll see how your emotions have been shaped during your childhood.

  • Do you sometimes feel sad over something that seems small?
  • Do you have fears that impact the people you love the most?
  • Are you ready to fall in love with your life?
