Gallery Open

Local Photographer Simon Cherriman has launched this amazing exhibition of over 100 photographs which represents a series of powerful, awe-inspiring images reflecting our local Noongar seasons.

Our Galleries will be open for you to experience ‘Kingdom In The Clouds’ at this amazing location right here in the Perth Hills.

Immerse yourself in Simon’s passion for wildlife and our unique landscape. His dedication to the environmental science of the majestic ‘Wailitj’ Wedge-tailed Eagle will feature strongly in his inaugural photography exhibition. Explore the way he has captured the imagery and the pure essence of each of our six Noongar seasons and linked it to the ecology of this most incredible native bird as well as many other local flora and fauna.

As part of The Sound Temple’s continued practice to revive local culture, connection and lost art forms, the exhibition forms part of our annual community engagement project.

Simon is currently specialising in PhD research which involves recording and documenting the breeding habits of Wedge-tailed Eagles throughout Western Australia, and utilising cutting-edge satellite-tracking methods in his research to study the details of eagle movements and habitat use.

He believes that education is one of the most important tools in conservation and environmental change and is a passionate advocate for raising ecological awareness.

Reserve a place and join us in the Perth Hills at The Sound Temple for this one-of-a-kind exhibition by a true local, born and raised in our very own backyard. Exhibition open until 28th September 2018.
