Common Threads – Woven through Community

Join India Easton as she shares with our local community the year long study that she dedicated to the world of fast fashion and the real costs involved to societies worldwide.

This night will include a presentation, a display of her work and India will host a powerful open discussion around the way forward.  Some short TED talks will be shared.

This will be the third event that India is involved in during this month long project and she was the impulse for The Sound Temple to pursue this hot topic.

India Easton has been a long time advocate of sustainable, upcycled and hand-crafted fashion. She has spent many years perfecting various creative and artistic techniques to produce her own personal style of clothing.

For India, 2017 was dedicated to a year long study into the production, processes and destructive impact of fast fashion on our global society. She is one of Perth’s most cutting edge, contemporary protagonists for environmental and social change.

Common Threads – Woven through Community is a month long community engagement project proudly brought to the Perth Hills following on from the world Fashion Revolution week in late April.

This exhibition includes topics of integrating sustainability, creativity, and traditional hand-crafted wisdom of the ages. These events are designed for you to leave feeling deeply inspired to become part of a brand new impulse of considerable change.

Ends: 10:00pm
