Soulful Sounds of Spring
Spring has arrived and we acknowledge this as Djilba on the land that we walk on here in the Perth Hills. As colour in the surrounding environment begins to change with an explosion of yellow and cream flowers it’s a perfect time for community to come together and sing!
Singing opens the heart and enlivens the soul.
Join us for soul-lifting songs to celebrate Djilba, energising songs from around the world and beautiful songs to connect you with your spirit.
As the weather continues to warm up, we see the birth of the first of the baby animals. Magpies start to swoop protectively, guarding their nests, as do the willy wagtails and the wattle birds. Temperatures continue to steadily rise, and the mixture of wet days, clear nights and warmer days emerge. Djilba was traditionally known as the season of Conception.
Let’s celebrate in song together.
No experience necessary, just a love of singing. Benefits are heightened when groups of people sing together, we are looking for a nice healthy number of people to make this event a real success.
Paul Lawrence currently leads a choir in Fremantle area and would like to share these enjoyable afternoons with our Perth Hills Community and thus created Singing on a Sunday Afternoon.
Paul has been leading choirs for over 15 years. His unique and very accessible style involves movement, toning and light-heartedness.
He is passionate about music’s life-giving, life-affirming qualities. Paul has composed many songs and is currently the Music Coordinator at Perth Waldorf School.
We are very pleased to offer Paul’s singing group events at The Sound Temple here in the Perth Hills.
Start: 2pm Sunday September 9th 2018, arrive from 1:45pm
Finish: 5:00 pm
