Like A Lightening Bolt Out of the Blue this New Moon in Scorpio

New Moon in Scorpio 28th October 2019

“What the caterpillar calls the end, the rest of the world calls a butterfly.” – Lao Tzu

Sometimes, perhaps more frequently than most of us would like, things don’t always go according to plan. Dates change, life gets busy, or something gets tossed in our path and everything blows up in our faces. When things don’t go the way we want them to, we can get frustrated easily and can sometimes find it hard to get through to the other side. Remember why you started something. Try and find your way back to the path you were on before everything went wrong. More often than not, getting to where we were meant to be going, after all the obstacles life throws our way, can be more fulfilling and rewarding than you might realise right now. Don’t get caught up in the way things went wrong. Get out your map, find your way back to the crossroads and try another direction. You never know what might be over the next hill or on the other side of the next stream.

New Moon is a time when everything and anything is capable to a fresh start. It is a time to catch your breath, square your shoulders and remember what is important and why. A new beginning is possible any time, any place, any day and a new beginning can have a different meaning for everyone. Who’s to say a new beginning has to be a new job or a new car or a new life. A new beginning can be as simple as restarting your day at 3pm when the one that started at 8am didn’t go according to plan. It can mean a new route to work, a chance to try a different coffee shop, or even 10 minutes to book a holiday. New beginnings and fresh starts don’t have to be accompanied by fireworks and cheerleaders and a marching band; they can be quiet and intimate and only noticeable to yourself and those closest to your heart.

This New Moon occurs at 4º in Scorpio, reinforcing the need to establish firm foundations (4º) and to be wise in how to use your spiritual power (Scorpio).

This New Moon is almost perfectly opposed to Uranus and tells of a fortnight laced with catalytic lightning.   This highly charged electric energy can cause impatience, abruptness, impulsiveness, and rebelliousness. Sudden shocks and unexpected encounters may leave you feeling on edge.  But be wise, like the owl, and strengthen your inner world.  Stability and safety can be found in the peace of a knowing heart and the insight of a mind attuned to spiritual truths.  Your family will benefit from your wisdom and the peace within you.

This is a time to avoid confrontation and to spend more time on your own, to nurture yourself and go inward.  Seek out serenity and grace and cultivate this within you.  As you hold your poise inwardly then you will be able to hold your balance within the spontaneous, erratic and chaotic changes that are swirling externally.   Take time for yourself now and establish your dreams in preparation for the next full moon where Saturn sextile Neptune helps you bring to completion something you have been working toward all year.

Scorpio’s constellation is impressive in that it actually resembles its sign (the Scorpion), whereas other constellations are obscure. Probably for this reason, the Scorpion is often used to explain to concepts of Scorpio, with a sting in its tail. Scorpio has two other symbols (it is the only sign with three). The Eagle and the Phoenix. The symbol of the Phoenix can be linked to Scorpios’ concern with life, death and rebirth. Scorpios are people of deep faith, whether they are Christian, atheist or something more exotic.

People born under this sign are generally complex, deeply emotional, thoughtful and stubborn, and they can also be demanding, jealous, possessive and unforgiving of faults. They are naturally suspicious, which can make relationships difficult as people expect to be trusted and can find it insulting when they’re not. But while they can be jealous and possessive, you won’t find a more passionate sign in the zodiac. They are a deeply emotional sign with a great need and desire to partner. While insulting them is difficult, breaking their heart once it has been given to you is not. They search for deep, meaningful connections and once you have their trust, they are fiercely protective and will go to any lengths to do their best by you.

This New Moon in Scorpio creates a need to delve into your emotions as deep as possible. Like the Scorpio sign, you may find yourself realising that shallow relationships will not satisfy, as they aren’t meaningful enough.

New Moon is a time for change, for reflection and for new beginnings. Find the new beginning that is suited to you. Don’t be worried about cutting out people who may not have your best interests at heart. Try not to be distracted and put out when things don’t do according to plan. Take a deep breath and start again. Any time, any day, any place. You are the keeper of your own map and you decide where the treasure might be hidden. Don’t be afraid of what’s on the other side of the hill. The way down is always easier than the way up.
