Each week this group gather together on the grounds of The Sound Temple to study the works of Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) who was an Austrian born scientist, artist and philosopher.

The study group work over a period of time on one text, reading and discussing each paragraph.  There is opportunity to examine the material as a group, question this intense literature and time is given to reflect on these insights.  Some of the material covered includes human development, spiritual exercises, health, the kingdoms of nature, cosmic influences and more.

Anthroposophy literally means “the wisdom of man” and it examines all aspects of life and living.  It encourages individuals to awaken and develop their understanding of themselves, the people around them, and all elements of the world.

According to Steiner’s philosophy, the human being is a threefold being of spirit, soul, and body whose capacities unfold in three developmental stages on the path to adulthood: early childhood, middle childhood, and adolescence.

Rudolf SteinerAbout Rudolf Steiner

Beginning at the end of the 19th century, a relatively unknown Austrian philosopher and teacher began to sow the seeds of what he hoped would blossom into a new culture.  The seeds were his ideas, which he sowed through extensive writings, lectures and countless private consultations.  The seeds germinated and took root in the hearts and minds of his students, among whom were individuals who would later become some of the best known and most influential figures of the 20th century. Since the teacher’s death in 1925, a quiet but steadily growing movement, unknown and unseen by most people, has been spreading over the world, bringing practical solutions to the problems of our global, technological civilization.

The seeds are now coming to flower in the form of thousands of projects infused with human values. The teacher, called by some “the best kept secret of the 20th century,” was Rudolf Steiner.

Steiner, a truly “Renaissance man,” developed a way of thinking that he applied to different aspects of what it means to be human. Over a period of 40 years, he formulated and taught a path of inner development or spiritual research he called, “anthroposophy.”  From what he learned, he gave practical indications for nearly every field of human endeavor.  Art, architecture, drama, science, education, agriculture, medicine, economics, religion, care of the dying, social organization – there is almost no field he did not touch.

Today, wherever there is a human need you’ll find groups of people working out of Steiner’s ideas. There are an estimated ten thousand initiatives worldwide – the movement is a hotbed of

  • Entrepreneurial activity
  • Social and political activism
  • Artistic expression
  • Scientific research
  • Community building.
  • Further manifestations of Steiner’s influence include
  • Waldorf education
  • Anthroposophical Medicine
  • Eurythmy
  • Biodynamic farming and gardening

If you are interested in the works of Rudolf Steiner or wanting to explore more about the spiritual-science named Anthroposophy please join us.

For regulars who attend, there is no need to make a booking.  If it’s your first time then please register here so that you are sent a welcoming email with a map etc.

A Powerful Evening of Ceremony, Sound and Nourishment!

The Full Moon is a powerful and significant time when the moon’s energy is at its strongest. Through the power of sound, vibration and frequency we can amplify our personal intentions. You will experience a deep sense of relaxation, peace and nourishment as the sound healing aligns and recalibrates our bodies.

During the time of the Full Moon, an intense energy is present and we take this opportunity to gather in sacred circle.

Through a shamanic fire ceremony we are asked to reflect on what parts of ourselves are illuminated during this part of the lunar cycle and we welcome the opportunity to let go of what no longer serves us.  This will be followed with a smudging process to cleanse and clear, preparing us ready to receive the benefits of the Sound Session.

You will be taken on a Full Moon Sound Journey in our beautiful custom-built wooden chamber, which has been purposely designed to ensure that you get the maximum benefits from the resonance created during the sound sessions.  Our Temple design is certain to bathe every cell in your body in a wonderous sensation of sound.  The vibrations are created from our ancient symphonic gongs and other selected instruments such as Corinthian tubular bells, drums, orchestral grade chimes, crystal singing bowls, chanting and didjeridu.

The evening concludes with a shared meal, bringing a sense of celebration to the gathering as we bathe in this potent, most positive time of the lunar cycle together.

Join us for a powerful, immersive and intimate Full Moon session and gift yourself the deep healing of Sacred Sound.

These unique experiences are amplifying for the senses and include:  Sacred circle, ceremonial cleansing smoke, essential oil aromas, ethereal sounds, warming herbal teas, delicious vegetarian food and a warming fire in winter.

A Magnificent Evening of Sound, Intentions and Manifestation!

The moon holds so many of our earthly rhythms; it provides the ebb and flow for the elements and also influences the cycles of beasts and humans far and wide. The moon, majestically placed amongst the stars, and inhabiting many distinguishable forms, is a beacon of many things. Whether shrouded in MYSTERY or ILLUMINOUS in all its glory, the moon placed upon its regal thrown, is the greatest oracle of all.

The NEW MOON has much wisdom to share, quiet and still, we are invited to turn inward to listen carefully and reflect thoughtfully. Reverent and sincere the gesture of the New Moon is one of mindfulness, it asks for us to be attentive, to care and above all…….to LISTEN.

What does the New Moon reveal? Slowly through the passage of time, the cycle of the moon changes and through this journey it reveals its true magnificence to us. We take this time to connect with the energy of the New Moon to show us what parts of ourselves can be made more visible.

Held within a kernel of possibility, the New Moon is considered and reflective. There is no rush, there is only here and NOW!

With Nowhere to go and Nothing to do, the New Moon teaches us to Be……… Simply Be.

At The Sound Temple you will be taken on a New Moon Sound Journey in our beautiful custom-built wooden chamber, which has been purposely designed to ensure that you get the maximum benefits from the resonance created during the sound sessions. Our Temple design is certain to bathe every cell in your body in a wonderous sensation of sound. In our New Moon Sound Healing sessions each month we take time to come together to consciously plant seeds, settle into intention and create possibilities. This is the sacred time of silver light and silent dark, before the moon builds and emerges bright and strong once again.
