Join us for a day of hands-on learning led by renowned expert Meta Doherty.

Why Ayurveda?

Thousands of years before modern science confirmed the mind-body connection, the sages of India developed Ayurveda, which remains one of the world’s most comprehensive systems of health and wellbeing. Ayurveda, meaning “the science of life” (Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge), is not just a method of treating illness but a way of life. It empowers us to maintain balance and harmony within ourselves, in our relationships, and with the environment.

At the core of Ayurveda is the belief that true health is achieved through the harmonious interaction of diet, lifestyle, mental processes, and the environment. In Ayurveda, balance is everything, and it starts with understanding the five great elements that govern both the cosmos and our own bodies: Air, Fire, Water, Earth, and Ether.

The Power of the Elements – we will explore three of the most active Elements

These elements govern the biological intelligences within us and they determine how we respond to different diets, emotions, and environments. When we are balanced, we thrive in Health, Clarity, and most importantly Happiness.

The opposite of course is…………. Discomfort or Illness! What to Choose……………………?

What to Expect

A Day of Ayurveda,” includes the exploration of how these elements manifest in both your internal and external environments and how to create balance through simple daily practices. This experiential and hands-on cooking workshop will be a deep dive into the world of Ayurveda, where you’ll feel the impact of these elements on your body and mind.

During the workshop, you’ll:

  • Experience three separate forms of yoga, breathing, and meditation to balance the Air, Fire, and Water elements within, this will be in the comfort of The Mandala Room.
  • Prepare in groups three different recipes and sit together for a shared lunch. The meals are designed to harmonise the different elements within our bodies.
  • Learn to recognise the signatures of the elements in daily life and maintain wellness by balancing them.
  • Deepen your understanding of the Doshas and their role in your physical and emotional health.
