We warmly welcome Dee as an exhibiting Guest Artist at The Sound Temple as part of the Mundaring Hills Open Studio – Art in the Hills.

Daughter of artist, stage and film designer Bill Constable, Dee grew up surrounded by the paraphernalia and products of her father’s art and graphics. She was encouraged in her early exploration of paint and other media in his studio. However, following her school days, Dee completely shied away from art to follow a more traditional path of job and family.

In 2013 Dee moved back to the country of her birth, choosing to settle in the Perth Hills with her husband. In August 2021, Dee and her extended family (daughter, son-in.law and 4 grandchildren) set out in their caravans to explore the vastness, shapes and colours of the rest of the huge island in which they live.

Dee’s painting continues to be inspired by local walks, places she has visited, and her love of the form and colour that abounds within the natural environment. Her vision is to describe in paint both real and imagined landscapes to adorn people’s homes providing an extra dimension to the living space, and allowing memories, dreams and imagination to roam beyond the mere walls.

With a passion for travel, nature and vibrant hues, my artistic journey is a kaleidoscope of experiences. Inspired by the colours and intricate forms of the world around her, Dee translates these impressions onto canvas and clay. Each abstraction captures the essence of Dee’s wanderlust, infusing her pieces with a sense of adventure and exploration. Through this work, she invites viewers to embark on their own visual odyssey, where every colour and texture tells a story of discovery and wonder.

We are very honoured here at The Sound Temple to have Elina as part of our core team and now also one of our invited Exhibiting Artists here in the Perth Hills.
