As the moon darkens and a new lunar cycle begins, we find ourselves under the enchanting influence of the New Moon in Libra. It’s fascinating once you start to recognise the cycles, up here at The Sound Temple we often host events well into the evening and the team are often presented with moon-lit paths guiding us as we gather up our belongings to head home. Then all of a sudden one night we come out and can no longer see the path, it creates an ‘Ahhhh’ moment of ‘Hmmm it’s New Moon time again ’ and gives us all a gentle reminder of the cycles that Mother Earth so lovingly provides for us. Each cycle is an opportunity to take a deep breath in, to pause and to cleanse. The cycle of the New Moon presents us a time to go inward, self-reflect, take stock of our thoughts and to recalibrate ready for the new opportunities that arise as we are guided towards to out breath of the Full Moon once more.
Libra is one of our favourite New Moons, ruled by Venus! Who wouldn’t love the ultimate curator of love, beauty, and harmony? It brings with it a sense of Balance and Grace that we can’t help but feel pulled toward. This is the perfect opportunity to reflect on how we relate to ourselves and others—because let’s face it, even the most enlightened among us could use a little tune-up in the LOVE department, not to mention harmony.
Calling for Balance
Libra is all about the scales (no, not the kind you’re trying to avoid after your latest cake devouring high tea – different scales).
This month we talk about the energy of fairness, diplomacy, and the art of finding equilibrium in relationships. Time to celebrate the occasions this month where we have been fair and an opportunity to bring more awareness to how we can be even fairer in the future. Have we conducted ourselves with upmost diplomacy and to agree that there is always room for improvement. We can then take a dive into our relationships and not just our close intimate circle but how about people that we work with, play sport with or even our neighbours. How nice would it be if your neighbour came home and you had put their rubbish bin out for them rather than always being the other way round!
During this New Moon, the cosmos whispers to us to bring balance to any areas of our lives where things may feel a little wobbly. It’s a time to create amazing things and what a great time to catch up on all those favours you asked of everybody else this year. Surprise someone – bring some love, harmony and beauty to someone around you.
Venus also reminds us to embrace the beauty that surrounds us (and no, not just because Instagram told you so). Whether it’s the beauty of a sunset, the stillness of a quiet moment, or even just the beauty of a well-brewed cup of tea, now is the time to notice and appreciate the little things.
We have lots of fresh herbs growing in the temple gardens and what a simple pleasure it has been for us to gather up some fresh herbs and make a pot of tea for the team. Peppermint has been our favourite this month.
It is a great time to take on a cleanse – some of us here have just completed a five day Ayurvedic cleanse and we wanted to share one of our favourite parts, apart from chanting the prayer together before each meal – it was the coriander chutney topping that won the vote.
If you want to spice up your life try this ritual to excite your taste buds and enhance digestion:

Temple’s Version – Herb Chutney
- 1 bunch of Coriander (include all the stalks as they add lots of flavour and bulk)
- 2 bunches of Mint
- Parsley small amount – optional
- Basil small amount – optional
- Ginger – 2 cm peeled
- Lime Juice 2 Tbsp
- Honey 1 tsp or use Jaggery
- Salt ½ tsp
- Water 5 Tbsp or 1-2 ice cubes
- Parsley small amount – optional
Blitz and spoon on top of your rice and dahl or anything else – it certainly gives a Spring Zing to any meal.
If you think making a green chutney is beyond your capabilities just now, opt for at least a candlelit bath – but make it into a gorgeous ceremony. Take time to cleanse the area, add flowers, essential oils and set yourself up with some tunes (high vibe of course). Whatever speaks to you, let this Libra Moon guide you toward creating a sense of LOVE in your life.
Where Balance Meets Beauty at The Sound Temple
At The Sound Temple, we are constantly striving in the art of balance – it’s a journey and we are all on it. With our purpose-built sound chamber nestled among the majestic jarrah trees, we offer a sanctuary where harmony, beauty, and peace are more than just words – they are what underpins all of our work here. Under this New Moon in Libra, our space is the perfect place to reflect on the month just gone and to plant seeds for the month ahead, surrounded by nature’s stillness we so often seek.
“ I decided that if I could paint that flower in a huge scale, you could not ignore its beauty.”
– Georgia O’Keefe
An Invitation to New Beginnings
As the New Moon opens the door to new beginnings, let this be your sign to embrace change, set new intentions, and cultivate some extra love and beauty for yourself. If you’ve been thinking about mending a relationship, starting a creative venture, or finding more peace within, now is the perfect time to take that step.
This Friday night we will be gathering as an intimate group for an intention setting ceremony and a luxurious sound-healing, all whilst being bathed in the energy of Libra.
May this New Moon in Libra bring you all the balance, beauty, and perhaps a little laughter at yourself that we all need at times to keep us moving forward.
