The Healing Power of Breathwork in Sound Healing at The Sound Temple

Ancient cultures around the world including yogi’s use many different breathwork techniques, such as deep belly breathing, rhythmic breathing, and alternate nostril breathing, to achieve certain ways of being.   At The Sound Temple we have found that even cultivating the playing of the didjeridu needs a particular level of focus and lung fitness to use this as a healing tool. 

Activation of the parasympathetic nervous system, often referred to as the ‘rest and digest’ system, is a major positive that is facilitated by Breathwork – this in turn brings about a deep state of relaxation and then in turn, increases wellness in the body.  By consciously controlling the breath, individuals can slow down their heart rate, lower blood pressure, and again the result is that you are induced into a state of deep relaxation.   When combined with the resonant frequencies of sound healing, this relaxation effect is amplified, allowing participants to release stress and tension more effectively.

You will find some specific events where Breathwork is featured as the main priority, sometimes we also host educational sessions on the whole topic of breath and tools of enhanced wellness breathing are taught as a take home skill that can be transferred to all areas of your life.
