Sally Riddell is a fully qualified Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist in the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya. In this tradition yoga is a holistic, practical and experiential practice that respects the needs and abilities of each student. Each student is encouraged on a personal journey towards physical and mental health and spiritual growth Yoga for all stages of life.

Harishakti is a lover of life and all things Yogic from the physical practices to the psychology and philosophy. Having been drawn to a regular practice in 1998 Harishakti went on to study a teacher training course with FINY in 2001 and began her teaching journey at this time in Mundaring. Her studies have been ongoing both here in Perth and in NSW where she recently completed a diploma in Yoga studies.

Mandi J Nelson is a dedicated practitioner of Yoga and Meditation. She is passionate about spiritual growth, energetic expansion, alternative healing, and holistic techniques to overcome trauma.

She has been teaching yoga and meditation to children, teenagers, adults, disabled clients and the elderly for over six years and is particularly called to work with those who are on the threshold of transition as well as with the indigenous Aboriginal custodians of our land.

International Yoga Day Meditation and Chant

International Yoga Day is celebrated around the world each year on the 21st June and it is an opportunity for the entire planet to unite in yoga practices on the same day. It was declared in 2016 by the United Nations who recognise it’s universal appeal.
Join us for an hour of meditation, the sharing of its benefits through discussion, enjoy some chanting and be nourished by ritual.
During the afternoon there will be a

  • Chant

Donations to Amma’s charitable endeavours will be welcomed and a box will be made available at this event.

The Sound Temple is located in Sawyers Valley in the Perth Hills on five acres of Jarrah forest; it’s a sacred space, cared for by the loving hands of dedicated and inspirational custodians, committed to creating a gathering place for like-minded people to come together. A Day of Ayurveda – Practice and Theory

Winter is the perfect time to take a sneak peek at our Lifestyle and explore the aspects of Nourishment. Meta joins us to bring her wealth of knowledge to us through ‘A Day of Ayurveda’ with an inspiring day of yoga, breathing, meditation and some cooking.

Thousands of years before modern medicine provided scientific evidence for the mind-body connection, the sages of India developed Ayurveda, which continues to be one of the world’s most sophisticated and powerful mind-body health systems.

More than a mere system of treating illness, Ayurveda is a science of life (Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge). It offers a body of wisdom designed to help people stay vibrant and healthy while realising their full human potential.

Health is fostered through the informed interaction of the individual with their diet, mental process, lifestyle and environment. Ayurveda teaches us how to sustain what is inborn: health in the individual, in society and for the planet. It enhances our connection to nature, the five elements and the vastness of life.

With a variety of experiential practices, you will have a platform to learn why by doing.

During the day you will have the opportunity to:

  • Explore Lifestyle with yoga asanas, breathing, meditation, chanting and partial self-massage
  • Explore Nourishment where you will prepare vegetable khichuri for lunch
  • Explore and understand the Basic Concepts of Ayurveda
  • Explore Mental Processes followed by Question and Answer time

Meta Doherty is an IYTA (Australia) Yoga Teacher, Ayurveda Lifestyle Consultant and author of two books – Sattwa Café and Ayurvedic Forever Wellbeing, A Treasury of Holistic Recommendations. Over the past 20 years, Meta has lived and celebrated the exquisite nature of these traditional teachings, which are applicable to everyone.

Harishakti is a lover of life and all things Yogic from the physical practices to the psychology and philosophy. Having been drawn to a regular practice in 1998 Harishakti went on to study a teacher training course with FINY in 2001 and began her teaching journey at this time in Mundaring. Her studies have been ongoing both here in Perth and in NSW where she recently completed a diploma in Yoga studies.

Mandi J Nelson is a dedicated practitioner of Yoga and Meditation. She is passionate about spiritual growth, energetic expansion, alternative healing, and holistic techniques to overcome trauma.

She has been teaching yoga and meditation to children, teenagers, adults, disabled clients and the elderly for over six years and is particularly called to work with those who are on the threshold of transition as well as with the indigenous Aboriginal custodians of our land.

A Day of Ayurveda – Practice and Theory

As we move into the warmer months of the year it is the perfect time to embrace Diet and Lifestyle recommendations and explore The Great Elements.

Meta joins us to bring her wealth of knowledge to us through ‘A Day of Ayurveda’ with a day of yoga, breathing, meditation cooking and concepts.
Exploration will be around the Intelligence, internally and externally, of the three more active elements:

If you have attended any of our Ayurveda events, or if you are a first-timer, you are invited to join us and develop your understanding of the biological intelligence within us known as ‘Dosha-s’.

Thousands of years before modern medicine provided scientific evidence for the mind-body connection, the sages of India developed Ayurveda, which continues to be one of the world’s most sophisticated and powerful mind-body health systems.

More than a mere system of treating illness, Ayurveda is a science of life (Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge). It offers a body of wisdom designed to help people stay vibrant and healthy while realising their full human potential.

Health is fostered through the informed interaction of the individual with their diet, mental process, lifestyle and environment. Ayurveda teaches us how to sustain what is inborn: health in the individual, in society and for the planet. It enhances our connection to nature, the five elements and the vastness of life. Ayurveda recognises the elements in the environment as the same elements activating our bodies and minds.

With a variety of experiential practices, you will have first-hand knowledge of why – by doing.

During this nourishing day we will:

  • Explore yoga, breathing and meditation in three separate forms, to understand how to balance our air element, fire element and water element
  • Cook three different recipes for lunch as part of the experiential understanding of the elements and the dosha-s
  • Become familiar with the signatures of the elements so as to maintain wellness
  • Gain a deeper feel for the concept of the Dosha-s
  • Explore and share by way of Question and Answer time

Meta Doherty is an IYTA (Australia) Yoga Teacher, Ayurveda Lifestyle Consultant and author of two books – Sattwa Café and Ayurvedic Forever Wellbeing, A Treasury of Holistic Recommendations. Over the past 20 years, Meta has lived and celebrated the exquisite nature of these traditional teachings, which are applicable to everyone.
